Monel 400 (Monel400, N04400) is a nickel-copper alloy with first-class corrosion resistance to a variety of reducing media, and also has certain mechanical properties. Monel400 is particularly resistant to corrosion in hydrofluoric acid, neutral and alkaline salt solutions without air.
Monel 400 is used for uranium refining and isotope separation in nuclear fuel production. It is a standard material for salt solution concentration and crystallization, vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) production, MDI and TDI production, and petroleum refining. Monel 400 (Monel 400, N04400) has excellent corrosion resistance to neutral and alkaline salts, so it has long been a standard material in the salt production field. Although Monel400 is resistant to stress corrosion cracking, stress cracks will occur in mercury-containing or humid hydrofluoric acid vapor. If it is used under the above conditions, stress relief annealing must be performed.
